The daily structure: Learn / Implement / Connect

Wondering what a day at Photo Unity will look like? We kick off with learning sessions. Mornings and early afternoons are filled with informative classes, engaging talks, and hands-on demonstrations from our experienced educators. Later in the day we put theory into practice by working on projects together (for instance, creating a portfolio or sample wedding album and filming our personalized marketing videos). After dinner, the evening is yours to relax, ask questions, network, and build connections with fellow students and mentors in an unbelievable setting. Check out the topics each instructor will cover:

Day 1

Abby & Dave Moss / Castle Ceconi / Approx. 9am-9pm

The Art of Selling Art

Discover how to earn more per wedding and serve your clients better through the art and business of bespoke wedding albums with Abby + Dave Moss of Victory Albums. In this exclusive workshop, you'll get everything you need to increase (and even double) your commission per wedding through printed albums and wall art. This hands-on training will give you the entire Victory Albums proprietary system from initial client engagement to final design consultation. We’ll equip you with everything you need to excel in creating and selling tangible artwork that will become your client's cherished keepsakes. Our mission? To empower you to effortlessly design and sell bespoke wedding albums and wall art that maximizes your earnings per client without pushy sales tactics.

Day 2

Jennifer Moher / Venice / Approx. 9am-9pm

The Art of the Narrative

In The Art of the Narrative, we will embark on an exploration of the nuanced aspects of our businesses where storytelling can be seamlessly integrated. By infusing story into our visuals, website, blog posts, Instagram content, and reels, as well as our marketing and branding strategies, we will enhance the client journey. Together, we will document a wedding session in the historic city of Venice, weaving a narrative that resonates with each of our brands. This process will reveal how storytelling influences not only our work and the curation of images but also shapes our brand messaging and the emotional impact of our websites on clients. Ultimately, we will uncover the profound effect that a well-crafted narrative can have on every facet of our business.

Day 3

Lanny Mann / Udine / Approx. 9am-9pm

The Art of Documentary Wedding Photography

This is a full-day masterclass in the nuanced art and craft of documentary wedding photography. Learn how to combine real moments, with killer compositions, and amazing light (yes, you can have all three). Learn how to calm your ass down under pressure and perform creatively when it counts. Learn how to stand out in the world of photography, by simply making better art. Lanny's gonna kick your photography's ass into the best shape of its life.

Day 4

Mauricio Arias & Alice Tramontina / Udine / Approx. 9am-9pm

The Art of Unlocking Value in Photography and Design

Join us for an immersive workshop dedicated to exploring the concept of VALUE in every aspect of your photography journey. From understanding the intrinsic value in self-expression, art, and business, to recognizing and amplifying value within your community—this workshop will guide you in harnessing the power of value to elevate your work.

In the second half of the day, dive into the art of design with a focus on the Tramontina Collection. Learn how to infuse personality into your wedding collections by harmonizing color palettes, and discover techniques to translate your artistic vision into stunning wall art, parent albums, wedding albums, and coffee table books. Perfect for photographers looking to enhance their storytelling and design skills, this workshop will empower you to create truly valuable products that resonate deeply with your clients.

How do I get to Udine?

The closest major international airport is Venice Marco Polo (VCE). To get from VCE to Udine you have a few options:

By train: From the VCE airport you will first have to take a shuttle with ATVO to Venice Mestre train station. From there, you will be able to take the train the rest of the way to Udine (you can buy your train tickets in advance here). Hotel Astoria is about a 10-minute walk from the train station. There are also taxis that wait outside the station for your convenience.

By bus: Bus tickets can be purchased in advance with FlixBus. There are buses that leave directly from the bus stop at VCE airport which go to the bus station in Udine. The bus is generally a bit faster than the train but it has fewer departures available. Hotel Astoria is about a 10-minute walk from the Udine bus station.

By private transfer: Using a service like Viator, you can book a private transfer to pick you up directly at the airport and drive you to the hotel in Udine. This is the easiest option but also the most expensive (you might be able to coordinate ride-sharing with other students on our private Facebook group to split the cost). Up to 8 people can ride together.
